Note: This site is currently "Under construction". I'm migrating to a new version of my site building software. Lots of things are in a state of disrepair as a result (for example, footnote links aren't working). It's all part of the process of building in public. Most things should still be readable though.

Crane Fly

A close up photo of a crane fly on the outside of a window taken from inside and showing its belly. The six legs extend to the to the edges and top of the frame. Its eyes are little bulbs at the top leading to a long body that take up about half the lenght of the frame with translucent wings folded behind it that have brown lines marking the stronger structual parts.

I've always heard these things called "Mosquito Hawks." Seems the are really "Crane Flies."

This is another shot from my Canon S100. I'm super happy with it as my every day carry camera.
