And here is where you can get a copy of the showcase (assuming the torrent is still live which I can't check right now). When I hit the page, it asked me if I wanted to visit the new version of the site. You don't since the link to the tracks is on the archive.

Last year, South by Southwest release about 1.5 Gigs of MP3s from artist that were playing. One just came up on random that I hadn't heard before. A song called "Morning Wonder" by The Earlies. In another sign that the net is freaking cool, you can check it out for yourself.

I forgot to give an update on The Everlasting Light Bulb. Unfortunately, the verdict is not so good. The light puts out roughly the same amount of illumination as a 25 or 30 watt standard bulb. It's not even close enough to be able to read by. The hue of the light has a very, very blue cast two it. Doesn't feel like a daylight balanced, but I haven't put a color meter to it. Either way, it's not ready for prime time yet. Oh well, it was worth a shot. I'm sure I'll find some use for it since it's probably going be around for a few thousand years.

For those photographers out there. Do you guys use regular alkaline AAs, rechargeable AAs, or a pack. I used to use a pack for most thing, but I'm thinking about switching over to rechargeables AAs. Way lighter and less expensive. I don't need super fast recharging, but I'm wondering about cycle times. Any ideas?

Sites that don't let you copy URLs are stupid

I'm making a little bit of a wish list and one of the things on it is a Craftsman Ratcheting Screwdriver. The link to the sears site on that page works, but I did a little bouncing around and then tried to copy the URL to paste into my wish list. The link that I got was this one. The only problem is that if you try to go back to it, the page tells you that you have to start over from the beginning. That's a horrible experience to make a customer go through. If I want to buy something from your store and I know exactly where it is but need to come back to complete the purchase later don't move the damn thing on me. Some people will go through the process of finding it again, but you are going to lose some sales and just frustrate most people in general.

Cissy Strut by The Funky Meters just came up on the random. It might actually be impossible to keep your head from bobbing when you listen to it.

Inspired by Nuge's "Can't see shit", I figured it would be a good time to contrast our weather again. So, here's a shot I took out of my car the same day:

Weather Out the Window.

Okay, so in the post about not shopping about Best Buy I ran a spell check. Apparently I didn't hit "Ignore All" when it didn't know what "DMCA" was. I must have hit "Replace All". The result? Changing "DMCA" to "YMCA". There's probably a joke in there somewhere.
